SOUKUP as a partner for modern timber construction production


The lack of qualified workers is one of the most important challenges facing timber construction manufacturers today. This trend is becoming a strong impetus for investments in modern production technologies and automation.

While in the past, timber construction production was mainly ensured by simple assembly tables, today we have complex technological units that integrate many automated processes, such as stapling, screwing, CNC panel machining and automated insulation blowing. This makes it possible to significantly increase productivity, ensure stable production quality and at the same time reduce dependence on difficult-to-find qualified labor.


CNC panel preparation in module production


Hutchhouse, a company specializing in modular construction, has undergone a significant modernization of its production process. The heart of the new technology is the PONTEC CNC machining gantry in conjunction with a pair of WING mobile tilting tables and a semi-automatic gantry for applying blown ISOCELL insulation.

The production process begins on the first framing table, where the supporting frame structure is assembled. Thanks to the grooves in the flanges, precise positioning of the posts is ensured, which significantly speeds up assembly and eliminates the possibility of inaccuracies.

After the first side of the panel is sheathed and its CNC machining is completed, the panel is tilted and moved under the ISOCELL blowing gantry.

Here, the cavities are automatically filled with blown insulation. The device also includes an output for manual application of insulation into structurally complex or difficult-to-access cavities, which ensures maximum flexibility in production.

After the insulation is completed, the panel is closed with a second sheathing and moved back to the CNC machining center, where the final stapling, formatting and finishing operations take place.

The concept of a compact production line minimizes panel handling throughout the entire production process. At the same time, it allows for the efficient production of not only standard but also structurally very demanding compositions without limitations.


Tradition, craftsmanship and
modern CNC technology in perfect harmony


MARUNA s.r.o. from Terchová in Slovakia, which has been producing traditional timbered houses for many years, has expanded its production capabilities with a modern CNC-controlled SOUKUP production line for the production of sandwich panels.

The new technology enables precise and efficient production of frame structures while maintaining high standards of quality and precision. Thanks to this, MARUNA can combine honest carpentry and traditional timbered house production with the advantages of modern prefabrication.

The key principle of the new technology is the even time utilization of individual workplaces, which ensures a smooth flow of production without unnecessary downtime.

The basic operation is the assembly of the supporting frame structure using the specialized FRAMER LINE framing table. The operator moves between two work tables and assembles the panel according to the production documentation. The capacity and accuracy are increased by the system of grooved joints, which enable quick and precise positioning of individual structural elements.

On the adjacent WING table, located under the PONTEC CNC portal, the first side of the panel is sheathed, stapled and its precise CNC formatting takes place.

After tilting to the third WING table, ideal conditions are created for the installation of technical distribution or the application of thermal insulation. It is in this part of the line that the integration of equipment for automated blowing of insulation is planned in the future.

On the last WING work table, the panel is closed with a second sheathing and then moved to the PONTEC portal workspace, where final stapling, precise hole machining and peripheral formatting take place.

The result is an efficient production process with high precision and the ability to process a wide range of panel structures.


Modern production with panel flipping in one line


The new PONTEC CNC machine designed for the production of frame panels was successfully put into operation at the French company Active Home.

The entire production line was delivered in cooperation with the Swiss company TechnoWood, which ensured the delivery of the assembly table. It includes integrated tilting elements that allow the panel to be safely rotated in the axis and its precise placement back into the original working position. This technical solution, supplemented by our PONTEC machine tool, significantly increases production productivity, increases work ergonomics and radically reduces the demands on the company's overall production space.

Active Home is exceptional in its emphasis on sustainability and ecology. For thermal insulation of the panels, it uses natural straw from nearby agricultural farms, which significantly reduces the ecological footprint of the resulting building elements and supports the use of renewable materials.

An important part of the entire production process is also the digital connection of design and production. Data for controlling the CNC machine is exported directly from the CADWORK design software, which enables precise, fast and reliable production without unnecessary manual intervention.


Mass production of Scandinavian timber frame panels


V litevské společnosti WORKMAN UAB právě probíhá náběh nové průmyslové výrobní technologie určené pro sériovou výrobu rámových panelů pro dřevostavby skandinávského typu.

Instalace společnosti SOUKUP s.r.o. zahrnuje kompletní technologii pro výrobu stěnových, stropních i střešních panelů. Základem provozu je hlavní výrobní linka pro stěnové panely vybavená dvěma CNC portály PONTEC a šesti montážními stoly, které umožňují plynulý průchod panelů jednotlivými výrobními operacemi.

Výrobu stropních a střešních konstrukcí zajišťuje samostatná linka osazená CNC strojem PONTEC a dvojicí posuvných stolů WING, optimalizovaná pro práci s rozměrnými typovými i atypickými konstrukčními prvky.

Stroje jsou vybaveny pneumatickým nářadím pro různé typy spojovacího materiálu. K dispozici jsou 3 zásobníky pneumatického nářadí s celkem 12ti pozicemi pro plně automatickou výměnu. Speciálním požadavkem zákazníka je integrace šroubovacího zařízení, které umožňuje šroubování volně sypaných vrutů.

Celý výrobní systém byl navržen s důrazem na efektivní tok materiálu, minimální manipulaci s panely a rovnoměrné vytížení jednotlivých pracovišť. Výsledkem je vysoká produktivita při zachování přesnosti a opakovatelnosti výroby, která je nezbytná pro moderní prefabrikaci dřevostaveb.


In all these projects, data from design software is imported in the state-of-the-art BTLx format. Their processing is performed by the integrated Swiss program Lignocam, which, in addition to detailed 3D simulation of production steps, generates input data for controlling PONTEC machines.
